Is the Kingsong KS-16S Pro a good first electric unicycle?
Yes — it is a strong choice for riders who want their first serious EUC, especially for city commuting, campus routes, and short-to-mid-distance daily rides. The 16-inch wheel size gives more stability than smaller beginner wheels, while the 17.4 kg body keeps it more manageable than heavier performance models.
It is still an electric unicycle, so new riders should expect a learning curve. We recommend practicing in an open area with a helmet, wrist guards, knee pads, and elbow protection before riding in traffic or busy streets.
How far can it really go on one charge?
The KS-16S Pro has an 840Wh battery, with theoretical range up to 70–80 km under ideal conditions. Real-world range depends on rider weight, riding speed, hills, temperature, tire pressure, and riding style.
As a practical reference, a 150 lb rider on flat city roads at around 15–20 mph may get about 36 miles, while a 180 lb rider on mixed hills may get about 31 miles. A 220 lb rider in city commute conditions may get about 26.7 miles. These figures are useful planning references, not guaranteed results.
Can I ride it in the rain?
The KS-16S Pro is rated IP54, which means it is designed for light rain and wet roads when used with proper care. It is not waterproof and should not be ridden through deep puddles, standing water, flooding, or soaked conditions. Do not pressure wash the wheel or submerge it.
Why is the speed limited when the wheel is new?
For new wheels, riders need to complete the required initial riding distance before unlocking higher speed settings in the KingSong App. After riding 10 km+, connect the wheel to the KingSong App and adjust the speed settings. This setup helps new riders build basic control before accessing higher speeds.
What happens when the battery gets low?
When the battery is low, the KS-16S Pro uses warning and protection logic such as low-battery alerts, current limiting, forced deceleration, and pedal tilt-back. These systems are designed to tell the rider to slow down and recharge. Low battery does not mean the wheel should be pushed harder.
Does the KS-16S Pro include Apple Find My?
No. Current inventory does not include Apple Find My, so it should not be advertised as having built-in tracking or anti-theft location features.
